Medical infrared temperature gun sold out? Understand these 8 points. Your industrial infrared temperature gun can be used as a quick aid
In recent years, due to the emergency situation at the front line, portable infrared thermometers have become an essential tool to fight against the epidemic. In the case of medical grade infrared thermometers out of stock, many people turn to purchase industrial grade infrared thermometers for emergency. Is industrial grade thermometers available? What's the difference with medical thermometers? Let's answer for you one by one:
Q1: what's the difference between industrial infrared thermometer and medical infrared thermometer?
Portable infrared thermometer is commonly known as infrared gun. Whether it is industrial or medical, their principle is the same. They measure the temperature value of the object surface. The infrared temperature measuring gun can be used as a screening, and can not be used as a diagnostic basis for doctors.
Medical infrared temperature gun: only focus on the measurement of human body temperature, ordinary medical infrared temperature gun can not adjust the emissivity, the general operating temperature is room temperature, and the measurement function can not be realized in low temperature environment. The measurement range is between 36 ℃ and 37 ℃, in which the medical infrared temperature gun has a good measurement accuracy (less than 1 ℃).
Industrial infrared temperature gun: it has a wide range of applications and good adaptability to ambient temperature. Generally, the operating temperature is between - 20 ℃ and 50 ℃ or even more. The measurement range is from - 3040 ℃ to - hundreds ℃. The emissivity can be adjusted and has good measurement stability (high repeatability and accuracy) at extreme temperature.
Medical infrared thermometer is a series of non complex environmental products derived from infrared thermometer through software modification and simplification. It is easy to operate but poor in environmental adaptability. It is recommended to use it in winter under indoor ambient temperature above 15 ℃.
Industrial infrared thermometer can be used in a wider range of environmental conditions, but it needs experienced personnel to measure the real body surface temperature by adjusting emissivity.
Q2: can industrial infrared thermometer be used to measure temperature?
Industrial thermometers are not recommended to measure human body temperature, but can do preliminary auxiliary screening. It can be used to measure body surface temperature, such as forehead and wrist temperature.
Q3: why is the value measured by the industrial infrared thermometer lower than the temperature (28 ℃ to 34 ℃)?
The normal temperature of human forehead is 32 ℃ to 35 ℃, and the temperature of hands is 30 ℃ to 32 ℃. If the forehead is higher than 35 ℃, it means that your body temperature is higher, and you may have a risk of fever (because the temperature of human skin is about 2-3 ℃ lower than the temperature of armpit, and it will be affected by the environment at the same time).
The forehead temperature is greatly affected by the environment, so the axillary temperature is used as the medical temperature measurement in clinical medicine. The difference value of the medical infrared thermometer has been corrected by the software before leaving the factory (36 ℃ is displayed for those lower than 36 ℃, and temperature compensation is made for other measurement intervals). The industrial thermometer reflects the real temperature of the skin surface without algorithm compensation.
Q4: why do industrial infrared thermometers measure body temperature, sometimes only 20 degrees?
The temperature of human forehead surface is greatly affected by the ambient temperature. If it must be measured outside the room, it is recommended to measure the clothing shelter inside the wrist or below the neck.
Q5: if industrial infrared thermometer is used to measure body temperature, will it be harmful to human body?
As long as the laser is not directly directed to the human eye, there are no other hazards (laser safety complies with FDA level II standard).
Q6: if industrial infrared thermometer is used to measure temperature, how far is the recommended distance?
We suggest that the industrial thermometer should be 5 to 10 cm away from the forehead and measure the middle part of the forehead (not far or near, nor close to the forehead, and the temperature at different positions will fluctuate).
Q7: if there is so much temperature difference, how to judge the suspected fever?
When using industrial grade infrared thermometer, it is recommended to use relative comparison method to help preliminarily judge the relative body surface temperature of a group of people. The method is to continuously measure the forehead temperature of five people, and take the average temperature, such as 34 ℃. If someone exceeds 35.2 ℃, and the relative normal person is higher than 1.2 ℃, there is a risk of overheating, and mercury thermometer is required for recheck (it is recommended to measure wrist in outdoor low temperature environment Inside).
It is suggested that the industrial infrared thermometer should be 5 to 10 cm away from the forehead and measure the middle part of the forehead (not suddenly far or near, nor close to the forehead, and the temperature at different positions will fluctuate).
Q8: how to ensure the measurement stability?
Note: when the instrument is taken out from the place with large difference between the temperature of the environment to be tested, the instrument shall be placed in the environment to be tested for at least 20 minutes before use, which will greatly increase the stability of its measurement.
